Sean Gayle is a design leader and footwear innovator with over two decades of experience shaping performance, lifestyle, and outdoor products for globally recognized brands. As Design Lead at Vibram Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts, he drives the creation of industry-defining outsoles and advanced concepts that push the boundaries of traction, comfort, and durability.

Before Vibram, Sean served as Senior Footwear Designer at L.L.Bean in Freeport, Maine, and previously led virtual and 3D design innovation as Advanced Concepts Senior Designer at The Timberland Company. Prior to Vibram, he became the Founding Designer of Moolah Kicks, the first women’s basketball brand built from the ground up to elevate female athletes, where he helped craft the brand’s performance identity and product strategy. His career began with roles at Stride Rite and G.H. Bass & Co., along with freelance design work for Reebok and other leading companies.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Sean combines a fine arts foundation with a deep understanding of product innovation and consumer needs. Originally from New York City, he now lives in Portland, Maine, with his wife, Kelly, and their daughters, Maya and Blake.
